BAF's 5 REGIONS
The BAF has divided the country into 5 regions for easier management. All BAF members will be assigned a region based upon the state they reside in. Members will communicate with the BAF through their regional representatives, which include a Regional Director and several local Branch Presidents.
Each region contains approx. 10 million Black people. The two Southern Regions contain the highest population of Black people, approx. 22 million. Region 5 (West) contains the fewest Black people but it is the largest region by number of states and size. Regions 1 (Northeast) and Region 4 (Midwest) both contain approx. 8 million Black people.
Region 1: Northeast, approx. 8 million Black population; (9 States - NY, NJ, CT, PA, VT, ME, MA, NH, RI)
Region 2: South 1, approx. 11 million Black population; (9 States - VA, WV, DC, MD, DE, TN, KY, NC, SC, GA
Region 3: South 2, approx. 11 million Black population; (8 States - FL, AL, MS, LA, AR, TX, OK
Region 4: Midwest, approx. 8 million Black population; (10 States - OH, WS, IN, MN, IL, NE, IA, MI, KS, MO
Region 5: West, approx. 5 million Black population; (14 States - CA, OR, WA, HI, AK, SD, ND, ID, WY, UT, NV, AZ, NM, CO
