$50 Million

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:

  • $25 million in grants to nonprofit organizations and social and religious institutions that support the growth and development of Black people and Black communities.

​​

  • $25 million in academic and service-based scholarships for Black high school and college students.

STRATEGIC FOCUS

​

The Black Achievement Fund Grants and Scholarships Department provides grants to BAF member nonprofit and religious organizations that operate programs and services that improve the lives of Black people. 

​

We also provide academic and enrichment scholarships to Black Achievement Fund members in the areas of education, job training, and personal development. 

​

GRANT/SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNTS

​

The Black Achievement Fund provides grants and scholarships up to $500-$1,500. We will determine the amount based on application information and available funds. 

​

WHO CAN APPLY?

 

Grants

​

Black Achievement Fund nonprofit and religious member organizations in good standing for at least 6 consecutive months.

 

Scholarships

​

Black Achievement Fund members of African descent in good standing for at least 6 consecutive months.

Grants

The Black Achievement Fund provides grants to BAF member nonprofit and religious institutions that provide programs and services that â€‹improve the lives of Black people. 

 

Our priority is helping small Black nonprofit organizations strengthen and expand their operations to ensure their future growth and sustainability. We offer grants in the following areas:

  • General operating expenses​

  • Program expenses​

  • Endowment​ & Capital Campaign support

​

In addition to providing grants, the BAF also offers technical assistance and consultation to member nonprofits in areas of management, technology, marketing, revenue stream development, accounting and more.

The Black Achievement Fund provides academic and personal development scholarships to BAF members to pursue education, job training, or professional enrichment opportunities​ that will enhance their career opportunities and personal happiness. The BAF awards scholarships in the areas of:​

​

  • College prep, including SAT, LSAT, GMAT, MCAT test prep courses;

  • Educational and academic enrichment programs, including professional tutoring;

  • Job training and apprenticeship programs;

  • Professional enrichment courses such as music or art classes;

  • College tuition assistance, including books, laptops and student activity fees;

  • Living stipends for college students;

  • Study Abroad programs;

  • Unpaid internship support;

  • Academic travel to conferences or workshops, or travel home for the holidays.
