Screening of Dr. Oku the Herbalist!
On Thursday, February 13, 2020 the Black Achievement Fund hosted a special screening and discussion of the documentary Dr. Oku the Herbalist, a documentary
produced and directed by BAF member Kojo Sankofa. Dr. Oku was a renowned African herbalist who pioneered the continental study and practice of herbal medicine as a powerful alternative to Western medicine. Dr. Oku was also a gifted sculptor and became Ghana's most renowned sculptors. One of his works sits in the Kennedy Center. There was a great discussion afterwards followed by food and fellowship!
