WELCOME TO THE FUTURE HOME OF BAF'S  NU  KEMET RETREAT  & RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY

OUR LAND

We are extremely proud to announce that we successfully raised $55,000 to buy our first 6 acres of collectively-owned land in Georgia. And it didn't take 10 million people to do it! In fact, it only took 159 people over 24 months. This is the power of collective economics/ujamaa!

The land is part of BAF's 118-acre Nu Kemet Retreat & Residential community located 2 hours south of Atlanta. Our Co-Founder, Arkee Hodges and his wife, donated an additional 2 acres to BAF to build Nu Kemet's Community Clubhouse.

Members currently have access to the land for camping, hiking, atv riding, retreats, or other events. For the gate codes email info@baf.solutions. In addition, BAF will be hosting events on the land while we are raising capital to develop it, such as community campouts and retreats.

We are now raising $75,000 to build our first collectively-owned guest house on our land. To achieve this goal we need at least 500 members/supporters to donate at least $150! Let's Continue To Make History!

WHAT'S ON OUR LAND

As we’ve shared, our land in Toomsboro, Georgia is truly untouched—virgin land that has never been developed or used for commercial farming or activity of any kind. It remains in its natural state, rich with an abundance of wild plants, medicinal herbs, and native fruits.

So far, we’ve identified thriving patches of wild blackberries and blueberries, mullein, prickly pear cactus, muscadine grapes, persimmon, plum and black cherry trees—and each visit reveals even more hidden treasures. The land continues to introduce itself to us, season by season. We are honored to steward such fertile, living soil and look forward to cultivating a farm that grows in harmony with what is already flourishing.

NATURAL GROUNDWATER AQUIFER

Our water source in Nu Kemet is privately controlled and comes to us by way of a natural aquifer, which will supply us with pristine drinking water. There has never been any fertilizer, gasoline or industrial waste on the land or any development of any kind that would compromise our water source.

No longer will we have to trust foreign water sources or deal with rusting pipes transporting toxins into our water system. All wells and pipes will be brand new. We will regularly test our water to ensure the highest quality.

The image to the left illustrates how a well is constructed and delivers water directly to a home.

PURPOSE OF THE LAND

The land is part of our 112-acre Nu Kemet Retreat & Residential Community. The purpose of which is threefold:

1. To establish a model Black community - and eventually a municipality - that will grant us the power to literally govern ourselves.

2. To demonstrate how we create wealth for the Black Achievement Fund and its members through collective and private real estate investment and development.

3. To provide the Black community with a safe space and oasis to host cultural festivals, concerts, conferences, weddings, retreats, summer camps, and more.
