The Roof Is On: Raising the Standard in Pharaoh’s Row at Nu Kemet
This week, we reached another defining milestone in the construction of the first home in Pharaoh’s Row at Nu Kemet — the installation of the roof.
And not just any roof.
We made the deliberate decision to install a metal roofing system, even though it comes at a higher upfront cost than traditional asphalt shingles. Why? Because we are building for longevity, durability, and legacy — not shortcuts.
Why Metal Over Shingles?
Most residential builds default to shingles because they’re cheaper and faster to install. But cheaper today can mean costly tomorrow. Metal roofing offers:
Extended lifespan — often 40–70 years compared to 15–25 for shingles
Superior resistance to wind, heavy rain, and extreme weather
Greater energy efficiency through heat reflection
Lower long-term maintenance costs
Enhanced structural integrity and modern aesthetic appeal
When you are building in a developing community like Pharaoh’s Row, your first home sets the tone. It establishes the construction standard. It communicates whether you are cutting corners — or building something that will outlast you.
We chose durability.
