We are excited to announce our 2023 Juneteenth schedule of events. Not only is Juneteenth the unofficial "Black 4th of July" - it is also our birthday!

 

Every year we celebrate Black independence and our birthday with fun programs and activities all weekend. This year's Juneteenth will be held in Atlanta, GA. We invite BAF members from all over the country and internationally to join us!

FRIDAY, JUNE 16, 2023

2pm - 7pm: Welcome Reception & Cookout Block Party - We officially kick-off our Juneteenth Birthday weekend with a welcome reception and cookout block party at our Kemet Club.

7pm - 10pm: BAF Talent Show! Calling all BAF performers, now is your time to show us what you got! We will host our very first BAF Talent Show Friday night. Seeking singers, dancers, spoken word artists, musicians, etc. Prizes for the top 3 performers! To register to perform complete the Talent Show Participation section on the Juneteenth RSVP Form. SATURDAY, JUNE 17, 2023

 

11am - 1:30 pm: Juneteenth Parade

BAF is registered to walk in Atlanta's Televised Juneteenth Parade which starts on historic Auburn Ave. and ends in Centennial Park. We want all BAF members present to walk in the parade to help take our campaign viral! Our target is 75 members and supporters! All parade participants receive free BAF t-shirts and continental breakfast!

1:30pm - 3:30pm: Centennial Park Juneteenth Festival. The BAF will have a booth at the Juneteenth Festival. BAF members will be at the event immediately following the parade, which ends in the park. The Festival features dozens of vendor booths and multiple music stages.

4pm - 8pm: BAF Juneteenth Birthday Party! Juneteenth is our official birthday! We will be hosting our birthday party at The Kemet Club. There will be music, food with vegan options, games, prizes and of course birthday cake! Come celebrate our hard work and success and meet and fellowship with other BAF members from around the country.

8pm - 10pm: Karaoke or Movie: Wakanda Forever! Get your karaoke on after the Birthday party or Join us for a screening of Wakanda Forever. After the movie there will be a brief discussion session.

4pm - 8pm: Dr. Ray Hagins 70th Birthday Juneteenth Gala! This year we are excited to host a 70th birthday extravaganza for Dr. Ray Hagins. The gala will take place at a beautiful Black-owned estate in the Atlanta-metropolitan area. Dress Code: Garden Party, semi-formal. This special event is limited to 100 people, get your tickets now! Early bird tickets - $150 until June 1, 23, $200 after June 1, 23. Tickets are fully tax deductible. Location: emailed once you purchase your ticket
